Community Spotlight: Price Farms Organics, LTD

Check out our April community spotlight as we talk with Josh Daughenbaugh at Price Farms Organics about the family composting business.

Price Farms Organics is a 7 generation family-owned and operated Class II composting facility specializing in recycling organic material, yard trimmings, food scraps and wood products – producing high-end mulch and soil blends. Located at the center of Hodges-Price family farm in Delaware, Ohio – they are EPA certified and have been in operation for 26+ years. Price Farms is knows for:

  • Mulch and Top Soil – about 5-6 varieties
  • Zoo Brew – this is mulch made from the Columbus Zoo compost

Turning compost is a 1 1/2 – 2 year process as it goes from grinding of the material to monitoring to letting nature run its course. At Price Farms, their mission is to help reduce landfill material and greenhouse gas omissions.

If you would like to start composting, stop by Price Farms Organics and grab your green bucket and fill it with your food scraps and drop it back to them and they will process at no charge. They are open year round and hours of operation: Monday – Friday, 8AM -4PM and Saturday, 8AM – 3PM.
