The leaves are starting to change and that means cooler temps are on the way. This is the perfect time to inspect your roof. Whether you want to schedule an inspection or take a look yourself – we can help!

Walk around your house and look for algae, moss or even piles of leaves. All of these can cause damage to your roof. Moss acts like a sponge in regards to soaking up rainwater. Be sure to safely clear these things away.
While you’re up on your roof, make sure you’re checking your gutters and downspouts. Remove any debris and do a water test to make sure everything is flowing smoothly and there are no leaks, as well as checking to make sure your gutters are still fully connected to your home. You will also want to look for damaged and missing shingles as this can allow for water to get through your roof. Make sure to also look at seals around your chimney or skylights. Anything with a damaged seal is likely to cause a leak. It’s probably a good idea to inspect your attic while you’re at it, too. Look for any signs of water leaks or damaged seals.
